Random Acts Of Kindness

With the shooting in Connecticut a lot of people have been doing Random Acts of Kindness Campaigns. I know of another woman who encourages others to do random acts in her daughter's memory. It seems most of the Acts required money of some sort; People buying someone's coffee or lunch, leaving flowers on a random car, I even saw one person who posted that they left dollar bills with a "R.A.K. - Pay it Forward" note, another man actually handed out $100 bills.

I really wanted to participate and spread some cheer through random acts myself, but we're a one-income family, so every penny counts in our life. I spent some time thinking of options so I could be a random act giver...giving hugs could be weird for the recipient; giving baked goods may be weird, too...Then I was clipping coupons from my Target Flyer that I get because I'm a card holder. They were some good coupons in there for expensive baby items - things we didn't need, plus it's like giving someone money. So I clipped all of the coupons and set them by that item in the store. Some coupons were as much as $10 off a stroller, or 25% off a carseat. I figure I left close to $75 in the store that day, it didn't cost me a cent. Talk about win-win.

I can only imagine the mom or dad going to get more expensive formula for their baby's special diet and seeing they get $3 off. I have no idea who benefited from these, but I plan to do it again and maybe I'll hang out and see who gets a smile on their face.
